The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The warrior gets his reward, and the one who equips him gets his own reward and that of the warrior.

Jihad (striving) in the way of Allah has great merit. Everyone who participates in it in any way has their share of it. Whoever spends on the Mujahidin (those who fight for the sake of Allah) has the reward of their spending. Whoever fights with their own self has the reward of their Jihad. As mentioned in this Hadith where the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) says: "The warrior (Ghazi) has his reward," meaning: the one who fights with his own self has his reward for his Jihad and going out in the way of Allah. "And the one who equips (Ja`il) has his reward and the reward of the warrior." The one who equips (Ja`il) is the one who prepares a warrior in the way of Allah voluntarily, and he has a reward for this preparation. The warrior asks him to contribute from his wealth and gives him a share of what he acquires. The equipper receives the reward and merit for his spending on the Mujahid. He also earns a reward similar to that of the Mujahid because he is the one who encouraged and motivated him to go forth in the way of Allah. It has been said: As for one who stipulates a fee from the warrior, he has no reward or recompense. This Hadith shows that reward is connected to action combined with intention..
