It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
When the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed tahajjud at night, he would say: "To You be praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and everyone in them. To You be praise, You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and everyone in them. To You be praise, You are the Sovereign of the heavens and the earth and everyone in them. To You be praise, You are the Truth, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, Hell is true, the Hour is true, Muhammad (ﷺ) is true and the Prophets are true. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, in You I put my trust, to You I turn, by Your help I dispute, and to You I refer for judgement, so forgive me all my previous and future sins, what I do in secret and what I do openly, for You are the One Who brings forward and puts back, there is no god but You.”
