It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that

A woman of Kath’am said: O Messenger of Allah, the command of Allah to do Hajj has come when my father is an old man and cannot sit firmly in the saddle. Can I do Hajj on his behalf? He said: Yes.
