sahihThis hadith has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura through another chain of transmitters with the difference that along with the mentioning (of the fact) that he (the Prophet) turned him away twice, or thrice.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ جَعْفَرٍ وَوَافَقَهُ شَبَابَةُ عَلَى قَوْلِهِ فَرَدَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ . وَفِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي عَامِرٍ فَرَدَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثًا .
