  • ٤٢٣ - شَيبانُ بنُ فَرُّوخ * (م، د، س) الإمامُ الثِّقةُ المسند، محدِّثُ البصرة، أبو محمد بن أبي شَيبة الحَبَطِيُّ مولاهم الْأُبُلي البصري. سمع: جَرير بن حازم، وأبا الْأَشهب العُطاردي، وحمّاد بنَ سلَمة، ومباركَ بنَ فَضَالة، وأبانَ بنَ يزيد، والطبقة. وعنه: مسلم، وأبو داود، وجعفر الفِرْيابي، وعَبْدان الأهوازي، وأبو يَعْلى المَوْصلي، والبَغَوي، ومطيَّن، وخلق. قال عَبْدان: كان عنده خمسون ألف حديث، وهو عندهم أثبتُ من هُدْبة (١). وقال أبو زُرْعة: صدوق (٢). وقال أبو حاتم: قدري، اضطُرَّ الناسُ إليه بأَخَرة (٣). مات سنةَ ستٍّ وثلاثين ومئتين، وله ستٌّ وتسعون سنة.
