Riyad as-Salihin, 1595
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "It is not lawful for a Muslim to forsake his (Muslim) brother beyond three days; and whosoever does so for more than three days, and then dies, will certainly enter the Hell." <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
لا يحل لمسلم أن يهجر أخاه فوق ثلاث، فمن هجر فوق ثلاث، فمات دخل النار
.((رواه أبو داود بإسناد على شرط البخاري)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br>
1) It is impermissible for a Muslim to forsake his brother for more than three days.<br>
2) Spreading the greeting of peace among Muslims is one of the reasons for fostering love and entering Paradise. A Muslim should be keen on applying this prophetic guidance of spreading the greeting of peace among Muslims, and initiate it to those whom he knows and does not know.<br>
3) The occurrence of desertion and enmity among Muslims is an aspect of obeying the devil, and a reason for alienation between the believers.<br>
4) Insistence on desertion and abandonment without a valid Shariah reason is one of the major sins that makes the doer deserving of punishment.
