Riyad as-Salihin, 1137
Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Hasten to perform the Witr prayer before dawn." <b>[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]</b>.
وعن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
بادروا الصبح بالوتر
((رواه أبو داود والترمذي)). وقال: حديث حسن صحيح.

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br>
1) The time of the Witr prayer extends from the first part of the night to the time of the Fajr prayer.<br>
2) A man should urge his family to perform Qiyām al-Layl and Witr prayer, something the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) used to do with ‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her).
