Hudhaifah bin Al-Yaman (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah curses the one who sits in the middle of people's circle. <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>. A man sat in the middle of a circle so Hudhaifah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Cursed upon the tongue of Muhammad (ﷺ) or [he said] Allah has cursed upon the tongue of Muhammad (ﷺ) he who sits in the middle of the circle [of a gathering]. <b>[At-Tirmidhi]</b>.

وعن حذيفة بن اليمان رضى الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لعن من جلس وسط الحلقة‏‏.‏ ‏‏رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح. وروى الترمذى عن أبى مجلز‏:‏ أن رجلا قعد وسط الحلقة، فقال حذيفة‏:‏ ملعون على لسان محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم -من جلس وسط الحلقة‏. قال الترمذى:

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) A person should sit at any empty place near the gathering, not in the middle of the circle.<br> 2) When a person sits in the middle of a circle, he acts as a barrier amongst them, and this is a form of encroachment upon their rights.
