Riyad as-Salihin, 826
Jabir bin Samurah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Whenever we came to the gathering of the Prophet, we would sit down at the end (of the assembly). <b>[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi]</b>.
وعن جابر بن سمرة رضى الله عنهما قال: كنا إذا أتينا النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم جلس أحدنا حيث ينتهي. ((رواه أبو داود والترمذي، وقال:
حديث حسن
)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) It points out one of the etiquettes related to gatherings, namely sitting at any empty place near the group.<br>
2) This etiquette is recommended in all gatherings in general and in the gatherings of knowledge in particular, for they are the noblest and most worthy of proper manners.
