Riyad as-Salihin, 645
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I can see the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) look like one of the Prophets of Allah whose people beat and made him bleed while he was wiping the blood from his face and supplicating: "O Allah, forgive my people because they know not." <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>.
وعن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه قال: كأنى أنظر إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يحكى نبياً من الأنبياء، صلوات الله وسلامه عليهم، ضربه قومه فأدموه وهو يمسح الدم عن وجهه، ويقول: “اللهم اغفر لقومى فإنهم لا يعملون” ((متفق عليه)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) It shows the prophets’ perfect manners, as they were the most afflicted among people, followed in this by the most pious and then the next in the level of piety.<br>
2) It is recommended to supplicate Allah Almighty to guide the disbelievers, and it is permissible at times to supplicate against them.<br>
3) We are required to be patient and endure harm in the way of Allah Almighty.
