عامر الشّعبي (١٩ - ١٠٣ هـ) (٦٤٠ - ٧٢١ م) عامر بن شراحيل (١) بن عبد ذي كبار الشعبي (٢) الحميري (ابو عمرو) محدث، راوية، فقيه، شاعر. ولد، ونشأ بالكوفة، واتصل بعبد الملك بن مروان، واستقضاه عمر بن عبد العزيز، وتوفي فجأة بالكوفة. له الكفاية في العبادة والطاعة. عَامر الشّعبِيّ قَالَ أصَاب رجل من بني سَلمَة أَرضًا الحَدِيث هُوَ مُحَمَّد بن صَفْوَان أَو ابْن صَيْفِي أخرجه النَّسَائِيّ وَابْن مَاجَه وَغَيرهمَا من طَرِيقه

`Umar stood up on the pulpit and said, "Now then, prohibition of alcoholic drinks have been revealed, and these drinks are prepared from five things, i.e.. grapes, dates, honey, wheat or barley And an alcoholic drink is that, that disturbs the mind.
I heard `Umar while he was on the pulpit of the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Now then O people! The revelation about the prohibition of alcoholic drinks was revealed; and alcoholic drinks are extracted from five things: Grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley. And the alcoholic drink is that which confuses and stupefies the mind."
I heard 'Umar b. Khattab delivering sermon on the pulpit ol Allah's messenger (ﷺ) and saying': Now, coming to the point, O people, there was revealed (the command pertaining to the prohibition of wine) and it was prepared (at that time) out of five things: grape, date, honey, wheat, barley, and wine is that which clouds the intellect, and, O people, I wish Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had explained to us in greater detail three things: the inheritance of the grandfather, of one who dies without leaving any issue, and some of the problems of interest.
"I heard 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, on the Minbar of the Messenger of Allah [ﷺ], say: 'The prohibition of Khamr was revealed when it was made from five things: From grapes, wheat, barley, dates and honey.'"
