حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ فَرُّوخَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ كَيْفَ كَانَ شَعَرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ كَانَ شَعَرًا رَجِلاً لَيْسَ بِالْجَعْدِ وَلاَ السَّبِطِ بَيْنَ أُذُنَيْهِ وَعَاتِقِهِ ‏.‏

English translation

Qatada reported:

I asked Anas b. Malik: How was the hair of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)? Thereupon he said: His hair was neither very curly nor very straight, and they hung over his shoulders and earlobes.

حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلاَلٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَضْرِبُ شَعَرُهُ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ‏.‏

English translation

Anas reported that the hair of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came upon his shoulders.

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ شَعَرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ ‏.‏

English translation

Anas reported that the hair of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) reached half of the earlobe.
