Hadith text · Matn

‏ مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدِ فَقَدْ عَصَى اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ‏

‏ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated that Abu Musa said:

"The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) said: 'Whoever plays backgammon has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.'"

‏ مَنْ لَعِبَ بِالنَّرْدَشِيرِ فَكَأَنَّمَا غَمَسَ يَدَهُ فِي لَحْمِ خِنْزِيرٍ وَدَمِهِ ‏

English translation

It was narrated from Sulaiman bin Buraidah from his father that the Prophet(ﷺ) said:

"Whoever plays backgammon, it is as if he dipped his hand in the flesh and blood of a pig."
