حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، وَغُنْدَرٌ، وَوَكِيعٌ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ تَوَضَّأَ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated that 'Aishah said:

"If the Messenger of Allah wanted to eat when he was sexually impure, he would perform ablution."

‏ نَعَمْ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ ‏

‏ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:

"The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about whether a person who is sexually impure can sleep, or eat, or drink. He said: 'yes, if he does ablution as for the prayer.'"
