أبو بكر السمرقندي الفقيه الحنفي المعروف بالظهير قدم دمشق، وأقام بها مدة، وعقد له مجلس التدريس في الخزانة الشرقية بالشام من جامع دمشق التي جعلت مسجداً. ثم فوض إليه التدريس بمسجد خاتون إلى أن مات بدمشق في شوال سنة ثلاث وخمسين وخمسمائة.
