  • محمد بن سليم المكي ثقة. وقال أبو حاتم: هو صالح. وذكره ابن حبان في الطبقة الثالثة من الثقات، فلخص كلام البخاري، لكن لم يذكر رواية الخريبي عنه، ثم قال: وليس هذا بأبي هلال الراسبي محمد بن سليم، ذاك بصري، وهذا مكي، وقد روى وكيع عنهما. لم يذكره المزي. وقد وقع في الرقاق من صحيح البخاري عقب رواية عثمان بن الأسود عن ابن أبي مليكة عن عائشة حديث: من نوقش الحساب عذب: تابعه ابن جريج، ومحمد بن سليم. وذكر غيرهما - يعني: عن ابن أبي مليكة. قلت: ورواية ابن جريج، ومن ذكر معه أخرجها أبو عوانة في صحيحه عن يعقوب بن سفيان وغيره، عن أبي عاصم، عنهم، ومحمد بن سليم ظن المزي أنه أبو هلال الراسبي، فلذلك لم يترجم لابن عثمان، وعلم علامة التعليق على ابن أبي مليكة في ترجمة أبي هلال، وجزم أبو علي الجياني بأن المعلق له في الرقاق هو أبو عثمان محمد بن سليم المكي هذا. أو كأن سبب الوهم ما وقع للخريبي في تكنية محمد بن سليم المكي هذا أبا هلال. وفي الجملة فهما اثنان، والنفس لما قال أبو علي أميل، والله أعلم. وفي الرواة ممن يقال له: محمد بن سليم من أهل هذه الطبقة. • محمد بن سليم. روى عن: علي بن الحسين. روى عنه:. . .، كذا بيض له ابن أبي حاتم، ونقل عن أبيه أنه مجهول. ويغلب على ظني أنه المكي المذكور قبله. •
