It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Jibreel led me in prayer at the House. He led me in praying Zuhr when the sun passed the meridian and (the shadow of thing) was like the length of a shoelace. Then he led me in praying ‘Asr when the shadow of a thing was twice its length. Then he led me in praying Maghrib when the fasting Person breaks his fast. Then he led me in praying 'Isha' when the afterglow disappeared. Then he led me in praying Fajr when food and drink become haram for the one who is fasting. Then the next day he led me in praying Zuhr when the shadow of a thing was equal to its length. Then he led me in praying 'Asr when the shadow of a thing was equal to twice its length, Then he led me in praying Maghrib when the fasting person breaks his fast. Then he led me in praying ‘Isha’ when the first third of the night had passed. Then he led me in praying Fair at the time when it had got light. Then he turned to me and said: O Muhammad, these are the times of the Prophets before you; the time (for each prayer) is between each of these two times.”
