Musnad Ahmad 2812
graded· 769

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas (رضي الله عنه) that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got up to pray in the middle of the night, he would say:

“O Allah, to You be all praise; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all that are in them. To You be all praise; You are the Sustainer (and Maintainer) of the heavens and the earth and all that are in them. To You be all praise; You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that are in them. To You be praise; You are the Truth, Your word is true, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, Hell is true, and the Hour is true. O Allah, to You I submit, in You I believe, in You I put my trust, to You I repent, with Your help I dispute, and to You I refer for judgement. So forgive me all that I have done and all that is remaining, all that l have done in secret and all I have done openly. You are my God, there is no god but You."
