Musnad Ahmad 2430
sahih

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that

A woman whose husband was away (in jihad) came to a man to buy something from him and he said: Go into that small room and I will give it to you. Then he kissed her and touched her, and she said: Woe to you, my husband is away. So he left her alone. Then he regretted doing that, and he went to ‘Umar and told him what he had done. ‘Umar said: Woe to you! perhaps her husband is away (on jihad)? He said: [Yes], her husband is away. ‘Umar said: Go to Abu Bakr and ask him. So he went to Abu Bakr and told him (what had happened). Abu Bakr said: Woe to you! Perhaps her husband is away? He said: Yes, he is away. Abu Bakr said: Go to the Prophet (ﷺ) and tell him. So he went to the Prophet (ﷺ) and told him, and the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Perhaps her husband is away?" He said: Her husband is away. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) remained silent, and Qur'an was revealed: "And perform As-Salat (Iqamatas-Salat), at the two ends of the day and in some hours of the night [i.e. the five compulsory Salat (prayers)].” [Hood 11:114]. The man said: O Messenger of Allah, is it only for me or for all the people? 'Umar said: No, do not think that; rather it is for all the people. The Prophet (ﷺ) smiled and said: “‘Umar is right.”
