Sulaiman bin Moosa narrated that "Abdur-Rahman bin "Awf said:

When the Majoosi [Magian] came out from the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I asked him, and he told me that the Prophet (ﷺ) had given him the choice between paying the jizyah or execution, and he chose to pay the jizyah.
