Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA):

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "The upper hand is better than the lower one, and one of you should spend first on those he is responsible to provide for, lest a woman would say, 'Feed me or divorce me.'" [Reported by ad-Daraqutni, and its chain of narrators is Hasan (good)].

وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-{ اَلْيَدِ اَلْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ اَلْيَدِ اَلسُّفْلَى, وَيَبْدَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ بِمَنْ يَعُولُ.‏ تَقُولُ اَلْمَرْأَةُ: أَطْعِمْنِي, أَوْ طَلِّقْنِي.‏ } رَوَاهُ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ, وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ [1]‏
