Riyad as-Salihin, 1803
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Do not turn away from your fathers, for he who turns away from his father, will be guilty of committing an act of disbelief." <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
لا ترغبوا عن آبائكم، فمن رغب عن أبيه، فهو كافر
((متفق عليه)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br>
1) It is not lawful for a person to claim to be the son of someone other than his father. This constitutes severance of kinship ties and causes broad corruption.<br>
2) They point out the keenness of Islam to preserve lineages. This is one of the excellent aspects of the Shariah.<br>
3) It is obligatory to show dutifulness to one’s father, which includes attributing oneself to him.
