Riyad as-Salihin, 1730
Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do not revile the rooster for it wakes you up for prayer." <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>.
عن زيد بن خادل الجهني رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
لا تسبوا الديك، فإنه يوقظ للصلاة

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) It is prohibited to curse the rooster, for it awakens people for the most virtuous act of worship, namely the prayer.<br>
2) Anything that helps in performing and boosting acts of obedience should be honored and not insulted.<br>
Note:<br>
A person should be keen to pursue the proper means that help him wake up for prayer, like alarms. Negligence in utilizing the means that help one in carrying out the obligations is a sign of weak faith and failure to extol the rituals of Allah Almighty.
