Riyad as-Salihin, 1725
Buraidah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Do not address a hypocrite with the title of chief, (or similar titles of respect) for even if he deserves this title you will invite Allah's Wrath by using it for him." <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>.
عن بريدة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
لا تقولوا للمنافق سيد، فإنه إن يكن سيدًا، فقد أسخطتم ربكم عز وجل
. ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح))

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) It is prohibited to revere the hypocrites or describe them with words of respect and recognition, for they are the enemies and foes of Allah Almighty.<br>
2) It is obligatory to avoid anything that displeases our Lord and to pursue those things that earn His pleasure and bring us closer to Him.<br>
