Riyad as-Salihin, 1675
Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "There is no infection and no evil omen; but if there is anything (that may be a source of trouble) then it could be a house, a horse, and a woman." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
وعن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
لا عدوى ولا طِيَرة، وإن كان الشؤم في شيء ففي الدار والمرأة، والفرس
((متفق عليه)).

Guidance from the Hadith:
1) Pessimism and taking bad omens are prohibited, for this contradicts reliance upon Allah Almighty and trust in His decree and predestination.
2) Pessimism brings no good. If there were good in it, three things would be more worthy of giving bad omens: the house, the woman, and the mount, as indicated in a Hadith that reads: “No bad omens. A good omen may lie in three: the woman, the horse, and the house.” [Narrated by Ibn Mājah]
