Riyad as-Salihin, 1632
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cursed a man who puts on the dress of women, and a woman who puts on the dress of men. <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>.
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: لعن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم الرجل يلبس لبسة المرأة، والمرأة تلبس لبسة الرجل. ((رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br>
1) Prohibition of men imitating women and women imitating men, which is one of the major sins due to the mention of "curse" associated with it.<br>
2) The second Hadith is an example for imitation in clothes, but, in general, forbidden imitation includes all that is peculiar to a gender, like movements, clothes, way of speaking, and appearances.
