Riyad as-Salihin, 1358

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who sets free a Muslim slave, Allah will deliver from the fire of Hell every limb of his body in return for every limb of the slave's body, even his private parts." <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏

‏من أعتق رقبة مسلمة أعتق الله بكل عضو منه عضوًا منه من النار حتى فرجه بفرجه‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) Islam encourages its followers to set slaves free, which refutes the claims of those who criticize Islam and accuse it of injustice on account of slavery.<br> 2) Recompense is of the same type of action, and the bounty of Allah is greater still.<br> 3) We are exhorted to emancipate a slave free from defects, so that we can get the reward in full. This is the attitude of the believers who are keen to seek the full bounty of Allah by every means possible.
