Riyad as-Salihin, 1348

Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who neither takes part in fighting nor equips a warrior nor looks after his (the warrior's) family, will be afflicted by severe calamities before the Day of Resurrection." <b>[Abu Dawud]</b>.

وعن أبي أمامة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ من لم يغزُ أو يجهز غازيًا، أو يخلف غازيًا في أهله بخير أصابه الله بقارعة قبل يوم القيامة‏:‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) The Muslim society collectively cooperates in piety and righteousness. So, those who do not take part in Jihad protect the honor of the families of the Mujāhids. They are all like a well-built structure, whose parts cement one another.<br> 2) It gives a stern warning to the Ummah that they will be hit with a painful punishment if they fail to conduct Jihad. Allah Almighty says: {If you do not go forth, He will punish you with a painful punishment.}<br> <br> <br> <br> <b>Words in the Hadith:</b><br> A calamity: a disaster; and it may refer to the meaning included in the previous Hadith: “he will die while having one of the qualities of hypocrisy.”
