Riyad as-Salihin, 1309

Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent an expedition to Banu Lahyan and said, "One man from every two should join the fighting force, and the reward will be shared amongst them equally." <b>[Muslim]</b>. Another narration in Muslim is: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Let one of every two men go forth", and added: "Whoever stays behind (and looks well after the family and the property of those who have joined the expedition) will get half the reward of the warrior."

وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعث إلى بني لحيان، فقال‏:‏ ‏

‏لا ينبعث من كل رجلين أحدهما، والأجر بينهما‏

‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br> 1) Muslims are required to cooperate with one another in equipping the armies for Jihad. He who equips a fighter shall get the same reward as him.<br> 2) The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) managed his Companions properly. He instructed that those who could not join battles should be replaced by others who had the ability to do so.<br> 3) Taking care of the families of fighters in the cause of Allah is one of the greatest acts of piety, which is equal in reward to Jihad.
