Riyad as-Salihin, 943
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The soul of the deceased believer remains pending on account of the debt till it (the debt) is repayed." <b>[At-Tirmidhi]</b>.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلمى الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم الله عليه وسلم قال:
نفس المؤمن معلقة بدينه حتي يقضي عنه
((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) The heirs of a dead person should pay his debts on his behalf. They have no right to the inheritance until the debt has been settled.<br>
2) Debt prevents the dead person from enjoying the bliss in the grave, which Allah Almighty has prepared for the believers.<br>
3) Debt prevents bliss from those deserving it. Then, how would its effect be on sinners!<br>
