Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) kissed his grandson Hasan bin 'Ali in the presence of Aqra' bin Habis. Thereupon Aqra' remarked: "I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cast a glance upon him and said, "He who does not show mercy to others, will not be shown mercy." <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>.

وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قبل النبي،صلى الله عليه وسلم الحسن بن على، رضي الله عنهما، فقال الأقرع بن حابس‏:‏ إن لي عشرة من الولد ما قبلت منهم أحداً‏.‏ فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏

‏من لا يرحم لا يرحم‏!‏‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) It is recommended to kiss young children out of mercy and compassion towards them.<br> 2) The more a person acts mercifully to people, the more likely he will receive mercy from Allah Almighty. Our mercy towards one another brings us the mercy of our Lord. This is how we can get His mercy!<br> 3) It shows his humbleness and great mercy as he caressed Al-Hasan and kissed him in public.
