Riyad as-Salihin, 861
Anas bin Malik (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me, "Dear son, when you enter your house, say As- Salamu 'Alaikum to your family, for it will be a blessing both to you and to your family." <b>[At-Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hasan Sahih]</b>.
وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال: قال لي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم :
يا بُني، إذا دخلت على أهلك، فسلم، يكن بركة عليك، وعلى أهل بيتك
((رواه الترمذي وقال: حديث حسن صحيح)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) Saying the greeting of peace to one’s household brings about blessing and cordiality.<br>
2) The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) treated his servant Anas kindly and mercifully. He addressed him “O son!”<br>
3) A man may address a child saying “O son”, even if he is not his son, by way of showing kindness.
