Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) permitted Zubair and `Abdur-Rahman bin `Auf (May Allah be pleased with them) to wear silk because they were suffering from an itch. <b>[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]</b>.

عن أنس رضى الله عنه قال‏:‏ رخص رسول الله ، صلى الله عليه وسلم، للزبير وعبد الرحمن بن عوف رضى الله عنهما في لبس الحرير لحكة بهما‏.‏((متفق عليه))

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) Silk is smooth, soft, and cool which helps to alleviate the itch. Hence, the Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) permitted wearing it for necessity.<br> 2) This shows how the religion is easy and tolerant and how it takes people’s conditions into consideration. How blissful the believers are by their adherence to the Shariah of the Almighty Lord!<br> <br> <b>Benefit:</b><br> It is permissible for men to wear silk in four cases:<br> First: For some need, like having itchy skin.<br> Second: If it is equal in size to four fingers or less.<br> Third: If silk is mixed with another prevailing material.<br> Four: At war, for the purpose of irritating the disbelievers.
