Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) said something, he would repeat his words thrice so that the meanings would be understood fully; and whenever he came upon a group of people, he would greet them, and he would repeat salutation thrice. <b>[Al-Bukhari]</b>.

عن أنس رضي الله عنه أن النبى صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا تكلم بكلمة أعادها ثلاثاً حتى تفهم عنه، وإذا أتى على قومٍ فسلم عليهم سلم عليهم ثلاثاً‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br> 1) It is recommended to speak in a clear manner that can be understood by the addressee. This is part of the speaker’s eloquence.<br> 2) It is better to repeat the speech in case the addressee does not understand; but if he understands without repetition, then there is no need to repeat, for he said in the Hadith: “until he is understood”.<br> 3) Repeating thrice is the maximum that makes the speech clear.
