Riyad as-Salihin, 589
An-Nawwas bin Sam'an (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Piety is good manner, and sin is that which creates doubt and you do not like people to know of it." <b>[Muslim]</b>.
وعن النواس بن سمعان رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: البر حسن الخلق، والإثم ما حاك فى نفسك، وكرهت أن يطلع عليه الناس” ((رواه مسلم)).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) A sin has two signs: that it wavers in one’s heart and gives him feelings of unease, and that he dislikes that people should know about it.<br>
2) What should a person do regarding something that causes suspicion within his heart? God-fearing and piety dictate that he keeps away from it.
