Riyad as-Salihin, 478
'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do not crave for property lest you should be absorbed in the desire of worldly life." <b>[At- Tirmidhi, who classified it as Hadith Hasan]</b>.
وعن عَبْدِ اللَّه بنِ مسعودٍ ، رضي اللَّه عنه ، قال : قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم
لا تتخذوا الضيعة فترغبوا في الدنيا
. ((رواه الترمذي وقال : حديثٌ حسنٌ )).

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) We are prohibited from seeking more and more worldly possessions, which would attract us to them and make us heedless of the Hereafter.<br>
2) The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) was keen to guide his Ummah to the paths of goodness and keep them away from the paths of evil.<br>
