Riyad as-Salihin, 422

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:

Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, were you not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness from Allah; and Allah would forgive them". <b>[Muslim]</b>.

وعنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ “والذي نفسي بيده لو لم تذنبوا، لذهب الله بكم، ولجاء بقوم يذنبون، فيستغفرون الله تعالى، فيغفر لهم” ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

<b>Guidance from the Hadiths:</b><br> 1) It gives hope about the mercy of Allah, who opens the door to repentance and pursuit of forgiveness.<br> 2) If a person constantly repents and asks his Lord for forgiveness, being humble before Him, that is indeed one of the pious and dear acts to Allah Almighty. Blissful are those who continue to knock on the door of heaven through repentance and supplication.<br> Note:<br> The Hadith gives hope and glad tidings of forgiveness for those who sin and then repent. Let no one be deluded and think that the Hadith encourages the perpetration of sins.
