Riyad as-Salihin, 399
Samurah bin Jundub (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Among the people of Hell are there those who will be emersed in fire to their ankels, some to their knees, some to their waists, and some to their throats". <b>[Muslim]</b>.
وعن سمرة بن جندب، رضي الله عنه، أن نبى الله، صلى الله عليه وسلم قال:
منهم من تأخذه النار إلى كعبيه، ومن من تأخذ إلى ركبتيه، ومنهم من تأخذه إلى حجزته، ومنهم من تأخذه إلى ترقوته
((رواه مسلم)). (' الحجزة : معقد الإزار تحت السرة و الترقوة بفتح التاء وضم القاف: هي العظم الذي عند ثغرة النحر، وللإنسان ترقوتان في جانبى النحر ')

<b>Guidance from the Hadith:</b><br>
1) It frightens people of Hellfire and issues a stern warning to those who act like the dwellers of Hellfire.<br>
2) People will be punished in Hellfire according to their sins. So, a person should be keen to come to his Lord free from sins in order to save himself from being purified in Hellfire.
