Riyad as-Salihin, 18
'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with them) reported that:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah accepts a slave's repentance as long as the latter is not on his death bed (that is, before the soul of the dying person reaches the throat)". [At-Tirmidhi, who categorised it as Hadith Hasan].

Guidance from the Hadith:
1) Repentance is worthless at one’s deathbed, thereby, on an individual level, it must be made before the time of death.
2) Faith due to dire need at one’s deathbed is worthless because the servant is witnessing death already. So, the believer should take advantage of his life before death takes him by surprises.
