  • النعمان بن بشير الأنصاري ٢ - ٦٥ هـ / ٦٢٣ - ٦٨٤ م النعمان بن بشير بن سعد بن ثعلبة بن خلاس بن زيد الأنصاري الخزرجي. أمير، خطيب، شاعر، من أجلاء الصحابة، من أهل المدينة، وأبوه صحابي جليل له مكانة عند الرسول فقد كان يعقد له لواء السرايا. وأمه عمرة بنت رواحة أخت الصحابي عبد الله بن رواحة والنعمان أول مولود للأنصار بعد الهجرة، وقد سمع وروى عن الرسول ﷺ، الحديث ولم ترد عنه أخبار في خلافة أبي بكر وعمر ﵄. وروي أنه تأخر مع رهط من أهل المدينة عن بيعة علي بن أبي طالب كرم الله وجهه!، (ومنهم زيد بن ثابت ومحمد بن مسلمة وكعب بن مالك وحسان بن ثابت...) وسافر إلى الشام والتحق بمعاوية وكانت زوجة عثمان ﵁ (نائلة بنت الغرافصة) أعطته القميص الذي ضرّج بدم عثمان وأصابعها التي قطعت ورسالة إلى معاوية وشهد معه صفين. وولي النعمان على الكوفة في عهد معاوية وطرده أهلها فأرسله إلى مصر فرده أهلها أيضاً. وفي أيام مروان بن عبد الملك ناصر النعمان ابن الزبير فطلبه مروان فأدركه رجل من أهل حمص يقال له: عمرو بن الخلي كان النعمان قد حدّه في الخمر فقتله واحتز رأسه. ويذكر ياقوت أن قبره في (السلمية) بحمص. وتنسب إليه معرة النعمان بلد أبي العلاء المعري إذ أنه مر بها ومات له ولد فدفنه فيها فنسبت إليه.
