  • عباس بن سهل بن سعد الساعدي، أدرك زمن عثمان. وروى عن: أبيه، وأبي أسيد وأبي حميد الساعديين، وأبي هريرة، وسعيد بن زيد بن عمرو بن نفيل، وعبد الله بن الزبير، وجابر، وعبد الله بن حنظلة، وغيرهم. وعنه: ابناه: أُبَيّ وعبد المهيمن، وعمرو بن يحيى بن عمارة، وعبد الرحمن بن سليمان بن الغسيل، وعمارة بن غزية، وابن إسحاق، والعلاء بن عبد الرحمن، ومحمد بن عمرو بن عطاء، وفليح بن سليمان، وابن أبي ذئب، وجماعة. قال ابن معين، والنسائي: ثقة. وقال ابن سعد: كان ثقة، قليل الحديث. وذكره ابن حبان في «الثقات». وقال الهيثم بن عدي: توفي بالمدينة زمن الوليد بن عبد الملك كذا قال، والأشبه أن يكون زمن الوليد بن يزيد بن عبد الملك، وذلك قريب من سنة عشرين ومائة. قلت: قد أرخ وفاته في زمن الوليد بن عبد الملك كما قال الهيثم، محمد بن سعد عن شيخه الواقدي وغيره، وخليفة بن خياط، ويعقوب بن سفيان، وابن حبان، وزاد: سنة تسعين، وزاد ابن سعد: ولد في عهد عمر، وقتل عثمان وهو ابن خمسة عشر سنة، وكان منقطعا إلى ابن الزبير. • س -
