  • ٢٠٨١ - عوف بن أبي جميلة، الأعرابي قال صالح: قال أبي: عوف الأعرابي هو ابن أبي جميلة. "الأسامي والكنى" (٣٨٧). قال أبو داود: سمعت أحمد يقول: كان عوف الأعرابي أكبر من قتادة بسنتين. "سؤالات أبي داود" (١٤). قال عبد اللَّه: حدثني أبي قال: حدثنا محمد بن سواء قال: جاء شعبة إلى عوف فجعل يسأله: رأيت قتادة عند خلاس؟ "العلل" رواية عبد اللَّه (٤١١). وقال عبد اللَّه: سألته عن عوف الأعرابي، فقال: ثقة صالح الحديث. "العلل" برواية عبد اللَّه (٨٦١).وقال: قال أبي: وعوف الأعرابي أبو سهل.
