‏ النَّذْرُ لاَ يُقَدِّمُ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يُؤَخِّرُهُ إِنَّمَا هُوَ شَىْءٌ يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الشَّحِيحِ ‏

English translation

It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'A vow does not bring anything forward or put it back; it is just a means of taking wealth from the miserly.'"

‏ لاَ يَأْتِي النَّذْرُ عَلَى ابْنِ آدَمَ شَيْئًا لَمْ يُقَدِّرْهُ عَلَيْهِ وَلَكِنَّهُ شَىْءٌ يُسْتَخْرَجُ بِهِ مِنَ الْبَخِيلِ ‏

English translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:

"A vow does not bring anything to the son of Adam that has not been decreed for him. It is just a means of taking wealth from the miserly."
