أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ ‏:‏ الْحَدُوا لِي لَحْدًا، وَانْصِبُوا عَلَىَّ نَصْبًا كَمَا فُعِلَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated that Sa'd said:

"Make a niche for me in the side of the grave and set up (bricks) over me as was done for the Messenger of Allah."

أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، ‏:‏ أَنَّ سَعْدًا، لَمَّا حَضَرَتْهُ الْوَفَاةُ قَالَ ‏:‏ الْحَدُوا لِي لَحْدًا، وَانْصِبُوا عَلَىَّ نَصْبًا كَمَا فُعِلَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated from 'Amir bin Sa'd that when Sa'd was dying he said:

‏ اللَّحْدُ لَنَا وَالشَّقُّ لِغَيْرِنَا ‏

English translation

It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Jubair that Ibn 'Abbas said:

The Messenger of Allah said: "The niche is for us and the ditch is for others." (Daif)
